Evangelist Music
Music Ministry!

The primary role of our music ministry at St. John’s is to lead our congregation in worship. Our goal is to enrich, inspire, and engage the community in singing hymns and sacred songs in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and other liturgical celebrations.

Parishioners of all ages, that enjoy singing and playing their instruments are welcome to join us. Our choirs and ensembles meet weekly before Mass to rehearse. Every Mass has a group that needs you!

You do not have to be a professional to join! Many people say that they love to sing but “unless it’s in their shower” they are reluctant. Good news! We are not singing as soloists, but as a team...a team that makes music to worship God. So why not give us a try? Please come and share this special fellowship within our parish community.

Our Choirs & Ensembles

9:30 am Youth Ensemble

• Elementary - High school aged children and teens
• Serve at the Sunday, 9:30 am Mass from mid-May through September (2x a month)
• Rehearses at 8:45 am on Sunday morning in the church and bi-weekly as needed

9:30 am Adult Choir

• Adults 18+ vocalists and instrumentalists
• Serve at the Sunday, 9:30 am Mass from mid-May through September (2x a month)
• Rehearses at 10:00 am on Sunday morning in the church
• Rehearses at 8:45 am on Sunday morning in the church and bi-weekly as needed

6:00 pm Music Ensemble

• Middle-school to Adult singers and instrumentalists
• Serve at the Sunday, 6:00 pm Mass
• Rehearses at 5:15 pm on Sunday afternoons in the church and additionally as needed

Children's Christmas Choir

• Grades 1 - 6 (must be able to read)
• Serve at the 4:00 pm Christmas Eve Mass
• Rehearsals are announced at the appropriate time in the bulletin

Instrumentalists
We are always looking for instrumentalists! Guitar, trumpet, flute, saxophone, oboe, violin, drums and percussion are some of the instruments we have been blessed to include in our liturgies over the years.

Cantor Ministry
The Cantor leads all sung prayers at Weekend Masses, Weddings, Funeral, Baptismal and Holy Day celebrations.
