Winter Coats NOT Needed...
As some of you may remember, winter coats were not just a fashion statement, but a requirement last winter when attending Mass at St. John Church. And for those of you who attended any of our recent Town Hall Meetings, you will recall Fr. Brian confirming St. John’s need of a new church heating system, which has been quoted at a cost of approximately $100,000.
While that is not good news, we do have some great news! An anonymous donor has offered to match donations—dollar for dollar—up to $50,000. If we can receive half of the cost in donations, the cost will be fully covered!
What better time to schedule this work than during the summer months, when the workflow for the heating installers is slow, parts may be easier to obtain due to the lower demand, and we aren’t running against the clock to beat the arrival of the sometimes earlier-than-expected drop in temperature! So the request for your financial assistance to offset this cost begins today...
You can make your donation via online giving (link to the right). If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to St. John the Evangelist and note ‘new heating system’ in the memo line. You can mail it to the parish offices, drop into the offertory basket, or into any of the secure black drop boxes.
Thank you for considering being part of making St. John’s a little warmer this winter… warm enough to take your coats OFF!
As of September 15,
we have raised $57,855!
