Fr. Colletti grew up in East Braintree, the son of Arnold and Nellie (Storm) Colletti. He came from a family of five children; three brothers and a sister. He prepared for the priesthood at St. Philip Neri School for Delayed Vocations and St. John’s Seminary. He was ordained on February 2, 1962 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood, MA by the Most Rev. Jeremiah F. Minihan. He celebrated his first Mass with his family and Cardinal Cushing in Cardinal Cushing’s Chapel and on February 4 th at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth, his home parish and on February 11 th at Sacred Heart Church, Middleborough where he entered the seminary.
His assignments have included St. Theresa, Billerica (1962-1968); Our Lady of Fatima, Sudbury (1968-1972); St. Brigid and Sacred Heart, Lexington as Director of Religious Education for both parishes (1972-1976); St. Brigid Lexington (1976-1985); Pastor of Immaculate Conception, Malden (1985-1994); Pastor of Sacred Heart, Lexington (1994-2006); Pastor of St. Brigid and Sacred Heart, Lexington (2006- 2015).
Fr. Colletti celebrated his golden jubilee on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at St. Brigid Church in Lexington,
Fr. Colletti was granted senior priest/ retirement status on June 1, 2015. At that time he was given senior priest-in-residence status at the Chelmsford Catholic Collaborative.
