In 2016, Rae was hired by the collaborative staff to assist in the front office as a part-time Administrative Assistant, focusing on receptionist and light record-keeping duties. Since that time, her position has slowly and steadily transitioned to full-time and full workload!
Before joining the ranks of the Chelmsford Catholic Collaborative Rae worked 22 yrs.as a licensed cosmetologist while her children were young and volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, which allowed her to be actively involved in their lives. As they grew into their teen years, she pursued a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, and worked in that arena for several years before putting her career on hold to care for her first grandchild, who was born premature and benefited from the special attention that only a Nana can give. Continuing with her gift as caregiver, she cared for her live-in, mother-in-law until her passing in 2016.
As you will VERY soon learn (keep reading), Rae is a jack of all trades... she has worked in a sub-shop, a drive-in movie theatre ticket booth, as a restaurant waitress, function waitress, a department store cashier, fabric store clerk and sewing consultant, as a school crossing guard, school cafeteria worker, and as an event planner for a private catering business. After finishing college, she worked as a professional chef, office manager, property manager, hotel restaurant supervisor, and a hotel middle manager. She enjoys all needle arts, sewing and reading (partial to the genre of sci-fi and mysteries).
Rae was born and raised in New England, the youngest of eight, having moved a total of 17 times over the span of her ‘so-far’ life. She and her husband of 35 years, Robert, have raised 5 children, and now thoroughly enjoy the company of their grandchildren. Family is her most treasured jewel.
Rae has a particular connection to The Blessed Mother and will tell you that she has NEVER had an unanswered prayer. She will tell you that she has too many blessings to count, and in gratitude, tries to live her life as an intentional steward of the many gifts given to her by God.
Next time you call into the office, she just might be the one on the other end of the line. If not, ask for her. Either way, she would welcome the introduction as she delights in meeting people and learning something new from each and every person she encounters.
