First Communion

Students in second grade are prepared and encouraged to receive their First Holy Communion during Masses in April and May. Parents will work with their children on the sacramental preparation programs at- home. We will be using Dynamic Catholic’s “Blessed” sacramental preparation series.

 

• Families are asked to do preparation at home using the "Blessed" series
• First Holy Communion Interviews
• First Holy Communion Practicum
• The Sacrament of First Holy Communion

The best preparation parents can give their child is to practice and live the faith. One of the most important ways to do this is regular attendance at the holy Mass. An integral part of our child’s faith formation is participation in Sunday Liturgy. While completing the sacrament lessons and participating in Faith Formation are important for the practical knowledge that is learned, faith should also be experienced. To be part of the parish family, to worship together each Sunday is to be part of faith in action. Parents, we expect that you will give your child these experiences – preparing for the sacraments at home, participation in the Faith Formation program and attending the Holy Mass (in person or via the Live Stream)- so that your children will be encouraged to practice and live their faith.
